Isaac Cohen

About Me

Isaac has been playing the saxophone for over 20 years, bringing a rich blend of influences to his music. Originally from New Orleans, he grew up surrounded by jazz, rock and roll, blues, and funk—styles that continue to shape his sound today.

Inspired by legends like Kenni Holmen, Sonny Rollins, Gerry Mulligan, Horace Silver, and Grover Washington Jr., Isaac honed his craft under the guidance of some of Boston and Vermont’s finest musicians, including Scott Mullet and Ron Kelley.

These days, you can catch him playing with the funk band Slapback and the J & R Revue. While he primarily plays tenor and baritone saxophones, he’s also proficient on the alto and soprano, making him a versatile force in any lineup.
